Tamworth have added a friendly with National League side Wrexham to their pre-season schedule.
The Dragons are hotly-tipped to be title challengers this season after their much talked about takeover by Hollywood starts Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.
It adds to a busy schedule before the off on August 14 – with Notts County, Halesowen Town, Birmingham City and Chesterfield all still to come.
Joint boss Andrew Danylyszyn says the games will be good tests.
“What those big teams will do is test you and stretch you, they’ll pick out any holes and improvements that you need to be making,” he said.
“We’re really looking forward to it as a club because it’ll test us, and we’ll be able to get right down to the nitty gritty.”
Meanwhile, Tuesday’s defeat to Coleshill Town has given the Tamworth management some food for thought.
But they won’t be rushing into any snap decisions about players.
“We’ve had a lot of lads in but that will be cut down ahead of the season,” Danylyszyn added.
“Tonight has given us some insight into where we are and what we need. Some players have shown us some positives but with one or two players we’ve still got a decision to make.
“We’ve still got five friendlies left and there’s still nearly a month until the start of the season so there’s plenty of time to go.
“We’ll just be working on slimming the squad down and fine-tuning moving forward.”
