Andrew Danylyszyn says he’s happy with where Tamworth are at in their preparations for the new season after they comfortably beat a youthful West Bromwich Albion.
The Lambs’ joint boss praised the performance, which saw a number of Tamworth’s key players back in the fold, one being Dan Creaney who headed home a corner in the sixth minute to give the home side the lead.
Tamworth found themselves two to the good inside ten minutes when Tyrell Waite netted, after his initial effort was saved.
Dexter Walters added a third after 11 minutes with a thumping long-range effort that saw him bag deserved reward for his assists for the first two goals.
The Baggies did get one back after the break through Jovan Malcom – but the Lambs held on for their first win of pre-season.
Danylyszyn was pleased with how members of last season’s squad have blended with some new faces but admits there is still work to do in some areas.
“It’s important that we get up to speed and it’s good to get minutes in legs. We’ve seen some great performances both from the new lads and those who were here already,” he said.
“To say that’s only our second pre-season game, I’m quite happy with where we’re at. The signings we’ve made are all experienced and they’ve got up to speed well so the lads are starting to understand our playing philosophy.
“It’s gelling together but there’s still some teething issues and some work to do.”
