Clubs in Steps 3-6 will be allowed fans when the season gets going again, the FA have announced this evening.
It means Tamworth, despite being in Tier 3, will be permitted to have a maximum of 300 fans for their home games if and when the season starts again.
The Southern League recently announced a continuation in this season’s pause due to some clubs not being allowed supporters.
But the latest announcement will surely mean the league will get back underway – with the new legislation taking effect immediately.
Should Tamworth be moved out of Tier 3, the number of permitted supporters would be 600.
Supporters are still not permitted to travel between Tiers to attend fixtures and the Southern League have stressed it is “extremeley important” that spectators remain in their household or social bubble in groups of six and do not mix with other spectator groups.
As for food and drink, current government guidelines state pubs and restaurants in Tier 3 areas should remain closed, except to sell by takeaway or click-and-collect.
