Three Former Lambs Link Up With Kettering Town While Another Heads For Spireites

Kettering Town have been busy in the last few days as they look to stop their National League North struggles this season.

The Poppies are propping up the North table, taking just five points from their opening six league fixtures.

After signing one former Tamworth man on Tuesday morning in Callum Powell, Paul Cox has moved to add defender Rhys Sharpe and Kyle Perry to his ranks.

Sharpe left the Lambs in 2019 for a stint with Nuneaton Borough while 34-year-old striker Perry featured heavily in the 2010/11 season before spells at Hednesford, Altrincham and Coalville.

Elsewhere, Akwasi Asante is moving up a division to join National League strugglers Chesterfield.

Asante, who failed to impress at the Lamb under Dennis Greene, has been on fire this season with eight goals in ten games for National League North leaders Gloucester City.

He now links up with manager James Rowe, who also swapped the Tigers for Chesterfield this week.
