“Play Off Push Pending” | Stratford Town Fans Respond To Kaziboni Capture

Stratford Town fans were certainly happy with their latest signing announcement yesterday morning – former Tamworth man Greg Kaziboni checked in.

The attacking midfielder spent last season at the Lambs with a loan spell at AFC Rushden & Diamonds too – and now he’s got a new club.

“I’m humbled Stratford have chosen me to be part of something special and I hope I can repay everyone with great performances on the pitch,” Kaziboni told his new club’s official website.

Manager Paul Davis was just as happy and promised big things, saying: “Greg has fantastic ability and one that many clubs in non-league fight to get every season. I will guarantee he will put smiles on people’s faces when they see him play.”

But what did the fans think?

It was big_bob_80 who set the tone for the reaction with his comment (below) saying, “Play off push pending,” before adding, “Imagine him feeding [Mike] Taylor…”

Greg Porter was just happy Kaziboni wouldn’t be lining up against his side any time soon. He said: “What a signing. Always impressed when playing against us in the past so great to have him on our side now.”

Promotion was also on the mind of HarveyWWFC who added a musical touch to his comment. “Don’t you know pump it up, the town are going up,” he wrote.

Tamworth fan Stewart Jones was sad to see Kaziboni leave the Lamb, but wished him all the best. He said: “Good luck to Greg, really rated him at Tamworth, but it just didn’t work out, but definitely got talent at this level, and a great guy too.”

It wasn’t just fans either, a fellow player and an ex-manager also weighed in with their reaction.

Will Grocutt, who returned to Town himself a few weeks ago, said simply, “Big signing.”

Tamworth Head of Senior Football Thomas Baillie, who used to manage Stratford Town, thinks the move is just what Kaziboni needed.

“Good move for @kaziboni going to @StratfordTownFC I really hope it works out for him, great lad and genuinely nice person,” he wrote on Twitter.
