Tamworth Development Squad breezed through to the last four of the Fazeley Charity Cup with a thumping 13-0 win over Walsall Phoenix on Tuesday night.
Sam Ball’s four-goal haul was the highlight for the Lambs while Lewis Price and Fortune Sibanda both hit hat tricks.
Harrison James and Tom Parker also netted but it was defender Alex Smith who slotted the Lambs in front after six minutes, pouncing on a corner that had missed everyone.
Ten minutes later, Ball got his first of the night, pouncing on the rebound after the keeper palmed his initial effort into the air.
Ball got his second on 26 minutes, prodding home after his first shot hit the post to have the Lambs three up.
With Tamworth playing much of the game in their opponents’ half, Price had time to net two more for the Lambs before the break.
The onslaught continued after the interval. Nine minutes into the second half, Ball played a cross in for James who improvised well to steer home beyond the hapless keeper before Ball got his third on the hour mark, firing low to the keepers left from Morgan Cross’ through ball.
Sibanda made an instant impact from the bench, swivelling well before hammering home after 63 minutes, getting his second not long after – turning home Ball’s pull back.
Parker added another a minute later. Price then added his third of the night just inside the final ten minutes before Ball notched a fourth, lifting over the keeper.
It was left to Sibanda to polish off his stunning cameo from the spot, sending the keeper the wrong way to round of a resounding win for the young Lambs.
